Methanol: Facts need to be put in context
I read with great interest the article, “A Methanol Plant Primer” (TNT, 2-28). One fact caught my eye: One day of the plant’s emissions equates to the carbon dioxide emissions of 3,191 cars in a year.
Put another way: the methanol plant, operating 365 days per year, would produce carbon dioxide emissions equal to more than 1.1 million cars in a year.
My conclusion: Facts get the methanol plant conversation going. Facts in the proper context help Tacoma make an informed decision.
