Election: Reconsider support of Trump

Will this nightmare never end? Yes, I’m talking about Donald Trump.

What scares me more are the people who are following him. Pundits say they are angry and looking for a strong guy who can make everything better. People make bad decisions when they are angry.

History gives us many examples of what happens when people blindly and naively follow “strong” men who claim to be able to accomplish “wonderful” things, promising to fix the problems their followers are upset about and demonizing the “others” as the cause of those problems.

Trump shouts, “Make America Great Again!” The way Hitler made Germany great again? The way Mussolini made Italy great again? Remember the results of all their wonderful promises. Remember the unspeakable horrors these authoritarian leaders visited upon their countries, and the world.

I’m particularly shocked at the evangelicals who are so eagerly supporting Trump. He uses vulgar speech, insults and disrespects people, threatens violence, and has a long record of low ethics in his business and personal life. Will God be pleased by their support of a man of such low character?
