Election: GOP needs 'Hurricane Trump'

Re: “Will our state be a bystander to Hurricane Trump?” (editorial, 3-6).

It was nice to see The News Tribune running scared in this primary election. The editorial board is asking Washington voters to join ranks with past Republicans candidates who cannot garner enough votes to be elected to office.

After the hurricane moves through an area, the people become stronger and rebuild their structures taller and more durable.

The editorial is correct: “The GOP mainstream faces long odds to stop Trump’s momentum.” Yes it remains to be seen whether the many registered as Republicans in the Evergreen State will settle for the same “good old boys” plan and support a politician who does not live up to our high expectations.

Come May 24 we should add power to the hurricane and allow the dead wood to be blown away!

Republicans in our state should not stay silent. Just like Howard Beale, persuading his viewers to shout out of their windows, “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!”
