Scouts: Camp closures leave staff heartbroken

I am a former staff member at Camp Hahobas, one of the camps recently closed by the Pacific Harbors Council (TNT, 3-7). I believe I speak for most former staff members when I say that the closure leaves us with a void in our hearts that will never be filled.

For us, Hahobas was more than just a camp. It was a place that we proudly poured our blood, sweat and tears into, all for the honor of calling it home. It was an honor for me to have served alongside 200-plus other staff members over my seven years there, to teach approximately 7,000 scouts and scouters the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

As the saying goes, “May the great Scoutmaster of all Scouts be with us, until we meet again.”
