YMCA: All Christians aren't small-minded

Re: “Drop ‘Christian’ from organization’s name” (letter, 3-12).

I hope the LGBT community understands that the writer does not represent all Christians (only small-minded ones) when he decries the recent YMCA decision.

It seems that St. Paul’s admonition “to be all things to all people” applies to everyone but the writer, and the only offense that matters is the one he takes.

I fine it ironic that Paul’s words, in my reading, would be a wonderful reason for the YMCA’s decision. I applaud the organization’s decision in a day when religious institutions are known mostly for their moralisms and judgmental attitude.
