Puyallup: We should be doing more for the homeless

Re: “Shut by city, homeless center vows to reopen” (TNT, 3-18).

I am saddened by the response of the City of Puyallup and some of the neighbors to the New Hope Resource Center. I hope that the closure of the center is temporary.

The response to the homeless presence could have been one of how one could help. The homeless, the poor, will not go away anytime soon.

The answer is not closing what could help them but to improve it. I hope this is the outcome of this setback.
