Bethel: Support much-needed bond measure

As a longtime resident of the Bethel School District, I encourage strong support for the bond measure on the April 26 ballot.

This bond’s passage is necessary and essential due to the overcrowded, worn-out, and inadequate schools and learning facilities. Bethel students deserve better.

This bond would replace, remodel and renovate 15 older schools and facilities. The district is in rapid growth mode with projections indicating that 3,000 additional students will be arriving in the next 10 years.

Bethel has a proven track record of the highest standard when it comes to fiscal management. Past bond and levy dollars have been spent wisely and efficiently, and have always been delivered as promised. Passing this bond measure would secure more than $81 million in state construction assistance. Can we afford to give this up?

Student learning is critical and school up-to-date facilities do matter.
