Election: Democratic primary votes can still ‘count’

My voters pamphlet recently arrived. Voters must opt for a party and then select a candidate. Well, the Democratic caucuses decided the outcome for the Democrats, so voting for the Democratic candidate will not change the outcome at the convention. The delegates are already pledged to the candidate who won in the caucus.

But Democrats can still have a say in the primary. Nothing says that Democrats and independents can’t momentarily be Republicans and check that box. Then one can vote for the candidate that one wants to see run against the Democratic choice.

It’s a secret ballot, and one can have instant remorse and decide to become a Democrat or independent in an instant. So let’s have an overwhelming “Republican” turnout for the upcoming primary.
