Port: Elections will restore faith

In his guest viewpoint (TNT, 5/2), Erik Bjornson wants a new, “well-designed public process” to restore faith in elected officials.

Apparently he’s never heard of the public process known as an election, which happens to be designed for that express purpose.

Ironically, while the City Council and Port Commission are subject to elections, the Tacoma Planning Commission --which Bjornson, himself an armchair urban planner, wants to put in charge of everything -- is not.
