America: Other countries think we're stupid

In 2012 my husband and I were sitting on the deck of our hotel in Turkey. The only other couple at breakfast were speaking English, so we asked where they were from.

“Canada,” they replied.

“Tell me,” my husband asked, “What do Canadians really think of Americans.”

One of the women threw back her head laughing and said, “We think your are soooo stupid!”

She could have meant guns, health care, campaign spending, the electoral college, the cost of college, and/or infrastructure, and Congress. Whatever, she was right, of course. We had no argument. And this was all before Donald Trump. Now what does she think?
