Election: Vote for Sanders to avoid two lessers

TNT articles consistently present this year’s election as a choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, and paint Bernie Sanders as unelectable. The syndicated column “Crooked Hillary versus the Loose Cannon” (TNT, 5/12), once again offers us a glum choice between the lesser of two evils. The media is complicit in creating a climate where the presumed choice is no choice at all. However, the upwelling of dissent among the electorate has moved us squarely beyond this tiring dilemma.

Though the column fails to mention Sanders, it argues that Clinton should adopt one of his core policies – campaign finance reform – in order to overcome her “honesty” problem. Last March, Washington voters clearly (73%) chose Sanders as our Democratic nominee. Right now we have another chance to remind Washington’s superdelegates of that choice. Cast your primary ballot by May 24 for someone who’s neither crooked nor a loose cannon.
