Puyallup: Hold homeless center's clients, staff accountable

Letters about New Hope Center (accurately describe the situation that downtown Puyallup faces in its homeless situation. Since the center opened, there has been an influx of homeless people disinterested in being accountable to exit that situation; many are on drugs, have engaged in criminal activity, or have mental health issues that are not addressed as they need to be.

I also see the facility taking advantage of homeless people by suggesting they need to be classified as disabled. City Council meeting inquiries by citizens show sufficient proof that the director and a board member are using the center to get people on SSA disability.

New Hope Center should be held accountable to the people living in the area, and show evidence that its programs require clients to work on exiting homelessness within a specific time period.
