Election: Trump nomination prompts soul searching

What have we as a nation become when we allow an egotistical, racist, woman basher, selfish, unreliable, untrustworthy, proven deception artist potentially become president of the United States solely because he can bankroll his own campaign? Where is the pride, honor and self respect of the American people to allow such a low life the stage he craves? What contributions to the world can such a person offer besides national hatred, misery and possibly global war?

The thought of what we are becoming shames me as an American, and as a veteran who was prepared to lay down his life in defense of this great nation. Again I ask, where is the honor?
