Frederickson: Teachers resilient after colleague's death
Re: “Frederickson teacher dies in auto accident,” (TNT, 6/5).
I had the honor of being asked to come into Frederickson Elementary School today to help due to the tragedy of losing a beloved teacher, Steven McDonald. What I witnessed today was something truly inspiring. Even though it was no doubt one of the hardest days of their lives, they continued to teach.
They might not have stuck to their regular curriculum, but they taught. They taught our children that it is OK to cry. They taught our children that they can share how they are feeling. They taught our children to never forget the good times they had with Mr. McDonald. Most importantly they taught me what a strong group of leaders we have educating and caring for our children at Frederickson Elementary. Thank you to all the educators for what you do.
