Pierce County: Peeing employee allowed to flout rules
Re: “Case of the bureaucrat’s pee-soaked office chair,” (TNT, 6/21).
I don’t know what offends me more, the complete lack of adult supervision in the Pierce County Surface Water Management Department, or the fact that a government employee making $68,000 can be late for work an average of 33 minutes for two months straight (and probably longer) without getting canned.
Or maybe that it took seven months and the writing of a 109-page inconclusive report as to who peed on a colleague’s chair. Or that the only recourse when you have a chronically late, high-salaried employees who’s the prime suspect in this case — and who clearly hadn’t been doing her job — is to reassign her.
