Guns: Maybe Republicans are instruments of karma
Can a nation have karma? Could all our past misdeeds (attempted genocide of the indigenous people, slavery to the tune of four million blacks, and then the Civil War itself, in which Americans killed 750,000 other Americans) play a role in why we have a Congress refusing to bring to a vote on any reasonable gun-control mechanisms?
Are Republicans unknowingly working out the nation’s karma by letting guns run rampant to the tune of 357 million guns owned by Americans, when our population is only 320 million?
If the hearts of Republicans in Congress are so cold that they can’t understand the obscenity of Sandy Hook, I say let’s get it over with. Let us Americans have legal ownership of tanks, grenades, flame throwers, nerve gas and, for our neighbors, land mines.
