Fireworks: Six days is too much celebration
I recently read a letter to the editor about banning fireworks. Look, I am all for this holiday and the independence celebration. But living in an unincorporated area where homes are stacked on top of each other, I am puzzled why people can detonate for six straight days.
If you have inconsiderate neighbors who defy the law and light bombs in the middle of the road for six days, it will ruin your holiday. I kennel my dogs because they are scared. I am scared, too — scared the bombs that fall on my home will cause a fire.
But what can you do? You can call the police all night long and not hear from them. Until the police are properly staffed, it will never change.
