Election: Faulk would stand up for veterans
Larry Faulk is the only candidate that is not a career politician who is running for Pierce County executive. I told him about a disabled veteran who is confined to a scooter and must travel to Madigan Army Medical Center and the Veterans Administration hospital for his doctor appointments. Pierce County Transit has refused him shuttle service door-to-door since he lives near a bus route.
Faulk jumped into action by calling the director of Pierce Transit and explaining that the veteran was disabled and near blindness. His request was denied.
As county executive, Faulk would become a member of the transit board. I’m convinced that he would work tirelessly to ensure that our veterans, and other citizens, receive the services to live a dignified life. And isn’t the public transportation system there to serve us, the citizens of Pierce County?
