Conventions: Democratic version was real calamity

“The only thing to fear is fearmongering itself,” (Leonard Pitts column, 7/24).

Mr. Pitts, you should have waited until the Democratic National Convention was over before you so hypocritically denounced the GOP convention.

It wasn’t the GOP that protested its own convention, Mr. Pitts. It was your own Democrats that did so. It wasn’t the GOP that fired its convention committee chairperson the day before the convention, over corrupt leaked e-mails. It was your Democratic party officials who did that.

It wasn’t the GOP that shouted down its own convention speakers and then with the help of a white noise sound system helped drown out the protesters. No, Mr. Pitts, all this calamity took place at your Democratic National Convention.

Now that’s what I call ugly.
