Election: Trying to beautify Trump is pointless

Spokesmen and women from the frustrated Republican establishment claim they are trying to make Trump a polished, rational, teleprompter-reading candidate representing the conservative mainstream. I wish them luck. Beautifying Trump is about as futile as trying to fashion a silk purse from a sow’s ear.

Even so, everyday we read the paper and watch cable news expecting the new and improved Trump to appear, and everyday we are disappointed. And we wonder how much disappointment the establishment can take, or of greater importance, how much can the voters take.

Independents have had enough. Which leaves us to choose from the anti-government Libertarians, the anti-fossil fuel Green Party and Democrat Hillary Clinton, with her personal email server.
