Boeing: It's not alone in shedding its family culture
Re: “Boeing family culture sags in 100th year,” (TNT, 8/22).
The op-ed piece about the Boeing Company and its move from employer-oriented, community-friendly company to an international bottom-of-the-line organization was interesting.
Another recommended case study would be Weyerhaeuser. Its change from a family-oriented, employee-friendly and ethical company has recently been demonstrated by its cancellation of some retiree health benefits and its utter disregard for what happened to its famous campus in Federal Way in exchange for the quick dollar.
