Anthem: Quarterback shouldn't have NFL platform

Many people have pointed out San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has the right to protest what he believes to be injustices that aren’t being addressed. That right was earned by those who spilled blood for this country.

But for him to disrespect the flag that represents the freedom he was given by their sacrifices is disgusting. While he has the right to protest, he doesn’t have the right to use a national televised NFL game as his platform. He can stand on a soap box in Times Square or Embarcadero Center or elsewhere, but he should not be allowed to join his teammates on the field when our national anthem is played.
