Ocean Shores’ Winter Fanta-Sea is a chance to avoid the malls

What: You can add some adventurous travel to your holiday shopping by attending this annual event in Ocean Shores.

When: Noon-5 p.m. Nov. 25, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 26 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 27.

Where: Ocean Shores Convention Center, 120 W. Chance A La Mer, Ocean Shores.

What to do: There will be more than 70 booths selling arts and craft items for the holidays. Santa Claus also will be on hand to visit with children.

Visit interpretive center: If you bring your children, another good, educational stop in Ocean Shores is the Coastal Interpretive Center at 1033 Catala Ave. S. The center is filled with exhibits on coastal birds and wildlife, the history of Ocean Shores, Native American culture and shipwrecks that have occurred off Ocean Shores. You also can walk along the Matthew McGee Nature Trail that begins outside the center.
