THE SITUATION: As the temperatures begin to drop, it’s important to select the right sleeping bag to keep you comfy and reduce the risk of hypothermia.

AN ANSWER: NEMO Equipment’s Strato loft down sleeping bag is a good option for fall hiking and camping, with a rating down to 25 degrees Fahrenheit thanks to its 700-fill quilted down insulation.

Comfort is also key for the Strato. While you’ll probably sleep soundly without any accessories, it does have a sleeve to accept a 25-inch wide pad for extra comfort. The sleeve also helps ensure the pad stays where it should throughout the night.

THE DETAILS: The exterior shell is made of 40D ripstop nylon with durable water repellent for moisture resistance. Although it fits only one person, the bag provides a 38-inch width that leaves plenty of rolling room. The bag packs well for a midweight option, at 17 by 9 inches and a minimum weight of 3 pounds, 4 ounces. It is gray and blue.

PRICE: $369.95.
