Multi-tool bracelet

THE SITUATION: A multi-tool is a must-have for any adventurer. If you’re looking for one with a novelty factor — or if you can never find it in your pocket in a pinch — Leatherman’s newest multi-tool bracelet might be an option.

AN ANSWER: The Tread, made from 17-4 stainless steel, disassembles to provide up to 29 tools in the palm of your hand. It’s also not likely to be confiscated by the TSA since there’s no blade.

The cool factor is high on the Tread, as it’s functional and really sharp-looking. Each link is clearly labeled for use and may be used by itself or combined to create a range of tools, from Phillips, flat and hex screwdrivers to a glass-breaker and various wrenches. And the bracelet will no doubt be a hit at parties: of course, there’s a bottle opener too.

THE DETAILS: The Tread is adjustable to 1/4 inch to accommodate most wrist sizes, although you may have to remove a link or two unless your wrists are as beefy as the design.

PRICE: $165 for the uncoated version.

AVAILABILITY: To purchase or find a list of retailers, visit leatherman.com.
