Wenatchee Bundle Up Fest: On the road for Jan. 14

Wenatchee Bundle Up Fest

WHAT: This annual, family friendly event is put on by the Wenatchee Downtown Association and Wenatchee Parks and Recreation features the Bundle Up Fun Run, warming fire and more.

WHEN: 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Jan. 23.

WHERE: Stanley Civic Center Fountain Plaza, 121 N. Wenatchee Ave., Wenatchee.

FUN RUN: The event includes a 5-kilometer run/walk and a 1-kilometer kids’ run, starting at 11:30 a.m. The course follows the Wenatchee waterfront. There will be a costume contest for participants, as well as a post-race party. Register for the fun run at runwenatchee.org.

OTHER ACTIVITIES: There also will be hay rides, the opportunity to make s’mores, craft activities, a visit from L-Bow the Clown and more.

WHILE IN THE DOWNTOWN: Check out the merchants, craftsmen, eateries and other businesses with stalls at the Pybus Public Market (pybuspublicmarket.org). You can learn about the region at the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center (wvmcc.org). There also are a number of restaurants, breweries and wineries in the downtown area. You can walk the 11-mile paved Apple Capital Loop Trail.

OTHER ATTRACTIONS: Just north of Wenatchee is Rocky Reach Dam (chelanpud.org/parks-and-recreation.html). Just outside of town in Mission Ridge ski area, which boasts of having the most and best powder snow in the state.
