Seahawks vs. Vikings aftermath: What’s being said about the Monday night football showdown
Before we get to the Seattle win that gave it the lead in the NFC West, can we give it up for the Seahawks’ tribute to New Edition?
Seattle’s 37-30 win Monday over Minnesota shakes up an already wild NFC playoff picture. All of a sudden, San Francisco is sitting in the No. 5 spot, and Seattle, if the season ended today, would be in one of the top two spots.
Before the game Monday night, most of Seahawks Twitter was changing their avi’s to a picture of Baby Yoda mashed up with Russell Wilson. Monday’s victory might spur on a few more avi changes.
Seahawks ready for prime time players?
ESPN’s Brady Henderson discusses the ongoing trend of Seahawks success in prime time.
“The Seahawks are now a whopping 29-5-1 in prime-time games since Carroll took over in 2010. That was already the NFL’s best winning percentage in that span entering Monday night. That record includes a 19-2 record at home. The Seahawks have one more prime-time game on their schedule -- at the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night.”
Running game continues to gather steam
“ Russell Wilson may be garnering MVP consideration for his play all season, but Seattle’s most valuable pieces on Monday were alongside and behind Wilson in the backfield. Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny paced a relentless Seahawks ground game that led the offense on seven scoring drives and established a 2-to-1 time of possession advantage over Minnesota (39:45 to 20:15).”
