Reports: Hawaii’s Nick Rolovich in line to be the next head coach at Washington State
According to multiple reports, Washington State has it’s newest head football coach.
Hawaii’s Nick Rolovich has been tapped to lead the Cougars and replace Mike Leach, who left a week ago for Mississippi State.
According to Pete Thamel from Yahoo Sports, the deal is worth $3 million dollars per year for five years. The 40-year old is a former Hawaii quarterback who has been around the program since 2000 as a player and coach. For the past 10 seasons he’s been the QB/offensive coordinator and became the head coach in 2016. He has taken the Warriors to three bowl games. Rolovich’s all-time coaching record is 28-27 with a record of 2-1 in bowl games.
Much like his predecessor, Rolovich will continue the pass-happy approach from the Mike Leach era. At Hawaii, Rolovich’s team finished 10-5 in 2019 and put up 34 points per game.
