NBA continues to monitor cornoavirus outbreak, closed-door games are on the table per league memo

The coronavirus has impacted soccer in Europe, potentially the NCAA Tournament and now the NBA could be next?

According to The Athletic/Stadium NBA Insider Shams Charania says that there may be a closed-door, essential staff only at future NBA games if the virus continues to spread as it has been on pace to do.

Obviously this would be a major blow to the league but with fans in multiple cities already impacted by pandemic and the totals seem to be climbing every day. While the NBA should have a contingency plan in place, enacting it and having to pass up thousands upon thousands of dollars could prove to be an option that’s not as easy as it sounds.

This will certainly be a situation that will be looked at with great detail as this continues to develop. Continue to follow this and other coronavirus-related stories at thenewstribune.com.
