Fun ways that the sports world is coping with no live sports during the era of “social distancing”

The coronavirus has put a complete stop to the entire sports world. Athletes, coaches, and fans are without sports and the routine of how some or most of us operate during this time of the sports calendar has made way for some pretty fun content from our favorite athletes.

OL Reign did some wonderful community service on Friday collecting food for children who depend on schools for their meals.

OL Reign’s Megan Rapinoe is using some of her off time to be competitive in different ways, anybody up for a game of Scrabble?

LeBron’s family is doing a lot of dancing, so staying at home and having a little fun in the process is nothing new for the James Gang.

D-Wade and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union are getting pretty competitive but not with Scrabble but a fun version of basketball. After seeing Trae Young’s #InHouseChallenge, the Wade’s had their own challenge.

Teams who would normally be in action around this time of the year took to social media and had a chance to relive some wonderful memories.

The Seattle Sounders relieved their 2019 MLS Cup with a live-tweet as JoeTV showed the 2019 MLS Cup Final. Since there is no NCAA Tournament this season, CBS showed classic national championship games. There was some fun during the UNC/Villanova with Villanova’s Jalen Brunson attempting to reach out to UNC’s Justin Jackson during the final moments of the classic contest.

NASCAR’s iRacing was one of the other cool things that helped fill the void, race car drivers took to the virtual track in a “race” broadcasted by FS1. Watching drivers like Denny Hamiln, Jimmy Johnson, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. be just like their fans and playing a driving game. Maybe this is something that NASCAR may do in the future when the season is up and running again.
