Jordan Eberle named Seattle Kraken’s first All-Star
Forward Jordan Eberle is the Seattle Kraken’s first All-Star.
Eberle, an alternate captain for the Kraken, will join 43 other players at the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star weekend on Feb. 4-5 in Las Vegas. He was the Kraken’s expansion draft selection from the New York Islanders.
“It’s a huge honor being selected as the Kraken’s first-ever All-Star,” Eberle told the Kraken website. “Our fans have been so amazing this season. Climate Pledge Arena has been one of the loudest buildings in the league. Their support means so much. I’m excited to represent them in Vegas.”
This is Eberle’s third selection and the second time he’ll appear in the game. He was named to the 2011 All-Game as a rookie after leading the Edmonton Oilers with 18 goals and 25 assists, but couldn’t play due to an injury. He was named to the team again the next season and finished that year with a career-high 34 goals.
Eberle, who leads the Kraken in points with 12 goals and 12 assists, is on pace to score 30 goals again. He also scored the first hat trick at Climate Pledge Arena.
Nine players in each division were selected by the NHL’s hockey operations group. The final player for each division will be selected through “Last Men In” fan voting. Seattle Captain Mark Giordano is on the ballot.
