The skinny: Gonzales missed the cut at last week’s John Deere Classic (even-par 142) at TPC Deere Run. He has fallen to 118th in the FedEx Cup points race; the top 125 retain their PGA Tour playing privileges for next year. … Putnam is running out of time to retain his PGA Tour card for next season. He missed the cut at the John Deere (6-over 148), his fifth missed cut in his past six tournaments. His scoring average of 72.3 ranks 191st on tour. … Stanley tied for 18th at the John Deere Classic (12-under 272), closing with a 67. He has made the cut at his past three PGA Tour events, including a tied-for-20th effort at the Travelers Championship the week before the John Deere.
