Released WWE Star's Situation Reportedly Gets Worse
The situation for Ridge Holland, who also uses his real name Luke Menzies, has reportedly worsened. Fightful Select confirmed with WWE sources that Menzies' WWE contract has been terminated early.
The word within WWE was that the company considered some of his recent social media posts to be a breach of his agreement. Because of this, the call was made to release him from his deal ahead of schedule.
Holland’s contract was originally set to expire in mid-November 2025. He was scheduled to be paid for the remainder of that term.
However, the report strongly suggested that he will not be paid for the remaining period of the original contract. This early termination appears to have voided that final payment.
Menzies is currently sidelined with a significant injury he sustained on September 27. This injury is expected to keep him unable to wrestle until “well into 2026”.
Holland suffered the injury while performing at a TNA “iMPACT!” taping in September, an appearance he made on behalf of WWE. Menzies has stated that he was not paid additionally for the TNA appearance.
The decision to release Holland came while he still had seven months of recovery remaining. This is a practice that was almost never done in WWE until the last year or so, as the company previously kept injured talent under contract.
Despite the early termination, it was noted that WWE must continue to provide and pay for his rehabilitation. If they failed to do so, the company would almost certainly open themselves up to legal action.
Holland’s recent social media posts were candid about his situation, which are presumably the posts WWE considered a breach. In previous public statements, Holland expressed frustration, stating he felt “hung out to dry” by the company.
He had also mentioned his financial worries, stating, “I never thought I'd not be able to pay my mortgage.” His original announcement on October 13 stated his contract was simply not being renewed, but this new report confirms the non-renewal has been escalated to an early termination.

Holland’s injury was a Lisfranc injury sustained in his match against Moose. He also previously revealed the possibility of needing neck fusion surgery in the future.
While Holland (Menzies) navigates his recovery and free agency, his final “NXT” rival, Moose, remains the TNA World Champion. In WWE, the company is preparing for “Survivor Series: WarGames” on November 29th.
The “Raw” brand’s WarGames match is now set, pitting the team of new World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and LA Knight against The Vision (Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, and Brock Lesnar).
