Steph Curry Struggled for Words When Talking About Warriors Teammate
The Warriors are progressing to the next round of the NBA Play-In, and Draymond Green could be a major reason for their success. The 36-year-old once again proved why he remains a key player for Golden State. Even his teammate, Steph Curry, was left searching for words while describing his performance.
The high-stakes game in Los Angeles ended with the Warriors' 126–121 win. Curry led the way with 35 points. Meanwhile, his opponent Kawhi Leonard recorded 21 points despite playing every minute, as he was limited from scoring more due to Green's defense.
The veteran forward constantly applied pressure on Kawhi. In the post-game press conference, Curry had high praise for Green. "He's special. He's a Hall-of-Famer," Steph said. "Just a defensive savant when it comes to being in the right place at the right time, fully committing to what the job is. It's not a fun job, like you said."
He further added that offensive players have the freedom to do whatever they want, while defensive players have to be "at mercy." Curry concluded by saying, "He feeds off those battles, those matchups… I think that he played tonight and just the level of impact he had was incredible. Um, I'm falling short on words to describe it. It's unbelievable."
Not just his teammate, but Kawhi himself also praised Green, saying, "Hall of Fame defender. It was hard to even get shots up." While many have questioned Draymond's relevance in the Warriors squad amid trade rumors to Bucks, it's fair to say the veteran forward remains a top player for his team.
