Steelers Get Aaron Rodgers Assistance in New Draft Projection
The 2026 NFL draft is going to be a special one for the Pittsburgh Steelers, because it’s taking place, of course, in their town. The event is taking place April 23 through 25 in Pittsburgh, and it’s safe to say that the Steelers will be looking to please Aaron Rodgers in the draft.
So, who will the Steelers take with their No. 21 pick? Again, getting a solid offense around Rodgers is of the most importance to this franchise. Rodgers still hasn’t signed on for another year, but if they come through with an A+ draft, that will likely entice him to do so.
In a Sunday, April 19 feature for USA Today, Nate Davis offers his thoughts on the upcoming draft and which players the 32 NFL franchises will take. “Five days before it was set to start, the draft’s outlook was drastically altered again – the New York Giants agreeing to trade Pro Bowl DL Dexter Lawrence II to the Cincinnati Bengals for the No. 10 overall selection,” he states, “meaning the G-Men now own a pair of picks in the top 10.”

For the Steelers’ No. 21 selection, Davis has them taking guard wide receiver KC Concepcion out of Texas A&M.
“He'd nicely thread the needle of being an immediately helpful asset to presumed QB1 Aaron Rodgers while also being a long-term building block for an organization that refuses to embrace a full-on reboot,” he explains in the feature. “Concepcion would slide right into the slot here between outside behemoth receivers DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. and would provide plenty of juice both as a run-after-catch demon and a punt returner.”

It’s pretty much a no-brainer that the Steelers will want to beef up their wide receiver room in the draft. It’s what Rodgers wants, and that means it’s also what they want. I could even see them trading up to get a better wide receiver, but if they want to play it safe and stay at No. 21, Concepcion has the talent and discipline to fit in with Rodgers and company.
