CM Punk Swats Fan's Phone After Late-Night Harassment Following WrestleMania

CM Punk achieved his lifelong dream of going on last at WrestleMania on Sunday, putting on one of the greatest main events in the show’s 42-year history against Roman Reigns for the world heavyweight title.

While Punk ended up losing in a marathon of a match that had the 50,000-plus at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on their feet from the bell ring to the final three-count by the referee, it was a monumental night for the pro wrestling legend.

Although he lost, Punk was all smiles following the match, interacting with family and fans as he made his way up the ramp to close out what was a strong night following a disappointing night one of WrestleMania 42.

Back at the MGM Grand, though, where WWE talent were staying for the weekend, things weren’t as ceremonious.

Punk, along with his wife and fellow WrestleMania 42 performer AJ Lee, was accosted by a middle-aged fan while attempting to get into the elevator up to their room.

The fan allegedly tried to put his arm around Lee for an impromptu photo, prompting Punk to protect his wife and chastise the fan, culminating in the former world champion throwing the fan’s phone to the ground.

It wasn’t the only harassment story of the night; there were multiple accounts of overzealous fans trying to get the attention of the talent. There was reportedly no extra security provided by the WWE, which left the wrestlers open to fans following them across the wide-open casino floor to the elevators.

Punk is no stranger to having to deal with fans infringing on his personal space, as he’s been public about fans needing to stay away from wrestlers when arriving at airports or walking to their rooms at hotels.
