Bubba Wallace Assigns Blame For 'Massive' Wreck at Talladega

Bubba Wallace is speaking out following the "massive" wreck at Talladega over the weekend.

A "big one" type of crash struck during Lap 115 of Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Jack Link's 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The major crash broke out when race leader Bubba Wallace received a strong bump from Ross Chastain at the end of the back straightaway. Wallace's No. 23 Toyota was sent sideways toward the outside SAFER barrier, directly in front of Cole Custer. There was then a "smoke screen of carnage" through Turn 3.

Several NASCAR drivers ended up being involved in the wreck, including Connor Zilisch, Ty Gibbs, Daniel Suárez, William Byron, Carson Hocevar, Erik Jones, Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson.

Following the race, Wallace, who had a tough DNF, spoke out.

Wallace took some responsibility, admitting that he and his team need to know how to be "pushed better."

"We gotta figure out how to be pushed better. So, I take responsibility on that," he told FOX following the wreck.

Wallace was ultimately very disappointed by the finish

Wallace and his team had another disappointing day.

"Got wrecked there, unfortunately," Wallace added. "Our Xfinity Toyota Camry was a little unstable getting pushed, but manageable. Maybe that hard of a hit was too much, and so unfortunately, we wiped out a bunch of cars. Got to debrief, figure out how to be better. Just kind of riding around, not doing much in the first stage and nothing to show for it at Talladega, unfortunately. This is a place we come to with a lot of confidence, and it is what it is. We will put this one behind us and go on to Texas and have some fun."

Wallace and Co. will look to improve next week.
