Prep Highlights: Columbia River baseball alone in first place after beating Ridgefield, 7-5

Luke Jenisch threw a complete game and went 2 for 2 with two walks as Columbia River rallied past Ridgefield 7-5 Monday in Ridgefield to move into sole possession of first place in the 2A Greater St. Helens League baseball standings.

As they did Friday when the Rapids rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Spudders 11-8 on Friday, Columbia River again rallied back after falling behind 3-0 after the first inning.

Charley Eisenhauer, Jake Lubisich and Hunter Vynanek delivered consecutive RBI singles to cap a four-run third inning that put River up 6-3.

Jenisch regrouped from his rough first inning to throw five consecutive scoreless innings.

Ridgefield rallied for two in the bottom of the seventh, but Jenisch got the final out on a fly to center with the potential tying run at the plate.

Skyview's Tanner Carlsen no-hits Camas

Tanner Carlsen tossed a no-hitter, allowing just one walk as Skyview baseball beat Camas 2-0.

Carlsen struck out 11 of the 20 batters he faced, throwing 80 pitches over seven innings. It came after the junior Loyola-Marymount commit had 13 strikeouts over six innings in his last outing, a 6-0 win over Battle Ground.

Skyview scored both of its runs in the bottom of the sixth - the first on an error and the second on a passed ball.

Camas pitcher Mateo Thorburn allowed just two hits over six innings, striking out nine.

Mark Morris wins key 2A GSHL softball clash

Makenzie Henthorn continued her dominant season, pitching Mark Morris softball to a 1-0 win over Ridgefield in a clash of 2A GSHL contenders.

Henthorn had 14 strikeouts, allowing three hits and no walks over seven innings. Of her 83 pitches, 67 were strikes in a game that lasted just 1 hour, 22 minutes.

The senior Montana commit has not allowed a run in nine league games and has collected 10 or more strikeouts in seven of those.

The decisive swing came when Keira McGinley led off the bottom of the fifth with a home run. The senior outfielder also doubled, going 2 for 2 at the plate.

Faith Smith allowed three hits over six innings for Ridgefield, striking out five and walking three.

Mark Morris, 12-1 overall, improved to 9-0 in league play with five games remaining. The Monarchs are ahead of Columbia River (8-2) and Ridgefield (7-3) in their quest to claim at least a share of the league title for a third consecutive year.

Camas golfers take Titan Cup

The Camas girls golf team beat Columbia River 4-2 in the championship round to win the Titan Cup, the annual match play event at Camas Meadows hosted by Union High School.

Reese Reiter, Lauren Bachelder and CC Bee each won their singles matches in the championship round to go undefeated on the day. They were on victorious pairings that helped the Papermakers beat Battle Ground 2-1 in morning alternate-shot matches.

Columbia River's Maia Carrillo and Madison Levy both won in the championship round. They paired together to help the Rapids beat Union 3-0 in the morning round.

Union beat Battle Ground 3.5-2.5 in the third-place match.

Ruby Lew, Columbia River softball, pitched a three-hitter, striking out seven and walking three in a 9-3 win over Woodland. She also went 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBI.

Allyson Montler, Camas softball, allowed just three hits and two walks, striking out seven over seven innings in a 4-1 win over Battle Ground.

Mackenzie Moore, Prairie softball, hit two home runs while going 3 for 4 with five RBI in a 20-0 win over Evergreen.

Stella Genova, Washougal softball, went 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBI in a 29-7 win over Hudson's Bay.

Kianna Thompson, Hudson's Bay softball, went 4 for 4 with three doubles and five RBI against Washougal.

Nellie Van Tol, La Center softball, went 2 for 3 with four RBI in a 25-1 win over Fort Vancouver.

Audrey Jackson, Skyview softball, homered twice while going 2 for 5 with three RBI in a 15-10 win over Union.

Kylie Killett, Kelso softball, had 14 strikeouts, allowing five hits and one walk over seven innings in a 15-4 win over Heritage. She also homered, going 1 for 4 with two RBI.

Maggie Ritton, Hockinson softball, went 4 for 4 with two runs and three stolen bases in a 12-11 loss to R.A. Long.

Rylan Howe, Union baseball, threw a complete game, striking out five and scattering eight singles in a 6-2 win over Battle Ground in a clash of 4A GSHL leaders.

Camren McCray, Prairie baseball, went 2 for 3 with three RBI, including a walkoff single in eighth inning of an 8-7 win over Kelso. The Falcons trailed 7-3 entering the bottom of the sixth.

Jack Tackett, Hudson's Bay baseball, allowed one hit over 6 1/3 innings, striking out nine and walking two in a 5-1 win over Woodland.

Riley Young, R.A. Long baseball, went 3 for 4 with a home run and was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits over four innings, in a 3-1 victory over Washougal,
