Anacortes American Boys Athlete of the Week: Dylan Rowell

Dylan Rowell fared well Friday, April 24, against some of the other top high school distance runners in the country.

The Anacortes senior placed fifth in the elite mile at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays in Beaverton, Oregon.

Rowell had a time of 4 minutes, 9.14 seconds.

He did his best running in the final quarter-mile.

Rowell had splits of 1 minute, 1.394 seconds for the first quarter-mile, 1:04.048 for the second, 1:03.215 for the third and 1:00.479 for the fourth.

In the 22-runner race, he was 13th after the first quarter-mile, 18th after the second, 15th after the third and fifth after the fourth.
