Caitlin Clark Suffers Injury Scare After Flagrant Foul in Indiana Fever Game

Caitlin Clark got off to a hot start for the Indiana Fever in Thursday's preseason game against the Dallas Wings.

After scoring just seven points on 2-of-10 shooting in her preseason debut against the New York Liberty on Saturday, Clark went off in the first quarter on Thursday. She dropped 14 points, two assists and a steal in the opening period against the Wings. The former Rookie of the Year was already up to 19 points by halftime.

Clark, however, suffered an injury scare in the third quarter of the game. The 24-year-old appeared to tweak her ankle, forcing her to the bench.

Clark was fouled on a three-point attempt at the 7:51 mark of the third quarter. Wings forward Alanna Smith was assessed with a flagrant foul for extending her foot in Clark's landing zone as the Fever star went up for a three.

Clark landed awkwardly, and it looked like she hurt her ankle. The two-time All-Star, however, was still able to take her free throws before exiting the game.

According to Fever reporter Tony East, Clark got herself checked by the team's medical staff on the bench after the incident.

The Fever have not provided an official update on Clark's injury status. However, she remained out for the remainder of the third quarter.

As of writing, the Fever are down 82-72 with 8:10 remaining in the fourth quarter. Clark has 21 points on 4-of-6 shooting and 11-of-13 from the line, with two rebounds, four assists, a steal and two triples.
