Senior Jimmy Womach was the engine of the T-Birds train on Friday afternoon, recording a win on the mound and three hits and four RBIs at the plate to lead them to an 8-1 triumph over Aberdeen at Pioneer Park.
It keeps Tumwater (14-4, 10-2 EvCo) alive for a regular season league title, but it will need to win both games against W.F. West on Monday and Tuesday. One win by the Bearcats will give them the league championship.
Womach allowed just one hit and three walks, but struck out eight over four innings of work. In the top of the second, he led off with a solo home run on the third pitch that jumpstarted a three-run frame. He was responsible for both runs in the third with a double.
The T-Birds added on with three runs over the fifth and sixth innings. Luke Overbay and Wyatt Chase each had two hits and two runs scored while Liam Gustafson also notched two hits.
