Make it 17 straight victories for the Bearcats, the latest featuring the third-most runs in a game this season, blowing out the Wolves 16-2 in five innings on Friday afternoon.
Ten different batters recorded a hit and 14 registered an at-bat. Only Wyatt Hoffman, Hiroto Smaciarz and Miles Martin recorded multiple hits. W.F. West (17-1, 12-0 EvCo) pulled away with a six-run top of the second and five more in the third.
The Bearcats scored via a wild pitch, two singles, a sacrifice fly, a balk and an error in the second. Three straight walks made it 8-0, then Smaciarz, Martin and Jax Potter notched RBIs in the third. Connor Coleman opened the game with a two-out solo home run in the first.
Three W.F. West pitchers combined to strike out seven and allow just two hits. For Black Hills (3-13, 1-11), its two runs came on an RBI groundout by Jake Langan in the third and a sac fly by Asher Strauss.
W.F. West begins a two-game series versus Tumwater on Monday at home while Black Hills takes on Shelton for the first of two games, also on Monday.
