Fans Calling For John Fanta To Earn Permanent Role For Kentucky Derby
Horses, trainers and jockeys aren't the only ones making names for themselves at the Kentucky Derby today. NBC's John Fanta has been a rising star in his own right for an audience looking for fresh blood.
The NBC reporter has been working the stands at Churchill Downs with the same amount of gusto as an NCAA Tournament sideline.
His flair for making everything conversation-worthy and overall energy has the fans all agreeing on one thing: He's the best there is right now.
"Let's let John Fanta host the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show next," Barstool Sports suggested on X after showing a segment of Fanta remarking on some of the outfits being worn at Churchill Downs.
High Praise
Fans had just about every kind of compliment you can think of for Fanta, ranging from his wardrobe to his versatility to his voice in general. While he's isn't everybody's cup of tea, he's certainly giving them a show as they count down the hours until post time.
"This is a John Fanta show. This is already Fanta's derby," one user declared on X.
"In a brilliant move by NBC-they've added the affable John Fanta to the Kentucky Derby broadcast. He is CLEARLY having a blast," wrote another.
"John Fanta has the Kentucky Derby in his back pocket. Wall to wall coverage from the legend," a third wrote.
"John Fanta should be on every national broadcast."
"John Fanta at the Derby is such a no brainer."
NBC certainly seem to have found a gem in Fanta. If they treat him right, they could have a permanent addition to their regular cast of major sports shows for years if not decades to come.
Judging by some of the responses, fans might actually be okay with that for a change.
