Caitlin Clark vs. Paige Bueckers: Head-to-Head Record from College to WNBA

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will host Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings on Saturday for their first game of the new WNBA season. The matchup at Gainbridge Fieldhouse will tip off at 1:00 p.m. ET.

This game will be the latest edition of the Clark vs. Bueckers rivalry. These two stars are widely considered to be the biggest names in women's basketball, and they will go head-to-head again to prove who reigns supreme.

Even before they were superstars in the WNBA, Clark and Bueckers already faced off twice at the college level. They split their record 1-1.

Bueckers drew first blood in their 2021 Sweet Sixteen matchup in the Women's NCAA Tournament. She led the UConn Huskies to a lopsided 92-72 victory over Clark's Iowa Hawkeyes. Bueckers went off for 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Clark finished with 21 points and five three-pointers in the loss.

Clark and the Hawkeyes got their revenge three years later. Iowa took down UConn in the 2024 Final Four, 71-69. Clark dropped 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Bueckers, on the other hand, had 17 points in the season-ending loss.

At the WNBA level, Clark and Bueckers have matched up in the regular season just once. The Fever star was limited to just 13 games last season due to multiple injuries. She played in one game against the Wings, on July 13, 2025, as Indiana blew out Dallas, 102-83.

Clark registered a 14-point, 13-assist double-double in just 25 minutes. Bueckers led the Wings in scoring with 21 points, but it was far from enough.

The Wings faced the Fever in a preseason matchup on April 30. Bueckers and Co. secured a 95-80 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Both stars led their team in scoring. Clark dropped 21 points in the loss, which Bueckers matched with 20 points of her own.

If the preseason exhibition matchup is included in their head-to-head record, Clark and Bueckers are deadlocked at 2-2. That tie will be broken on Saturday.
