Caitlin Clark Gets Emotional In ESPN Interview Before Fever's 2026 Season Opener

Before the Indiana Fever officially got their 2026 season started, Caitlin Clark sat down with ESPN's Malika Andrews for a one-on-one interview.

Unsurprisingly, Clark discussed her injury-riddled 2025 season. She initially missed time with a quad strain before suffering a groin injury that forced her to miss the playoffs. Despite not having the former No. 1 pick at their disposal, the Fever still made it to the WNBA semifinals. They ultimately came up short against the Las Vegas Aces, but it was a noble effort from Stephanie White's squad.

While chatting with Andrews earlier this week, Clark talked about how difficult it was to watch the Fever battle in the playoffs without her.

"The toughest moments for me were the night before the game and it's like man, my team is gearing up to play in Game 5 of the semifinals, and I know I don't get to put my uniform on," Clark said. "That makes me emotional right now, I hated that."

Caitlin has a chance to silence her critics this season.

There aren't any concerns about Clark losing a step or two due to injury. She recently averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 assists per game for Team USA during the FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament.

The only real question is whether or not Clark can stay healthy for a full WNBA season.

If Clark avoids the injury bug this year, Indiana will be considered a championship contender.
