Victor Wembanyama Makes Champions League Prediction For Arsenal vs PSG

Victor Wembanyama is in the midst of attempting to win his own championship, but that isn’t stopping him from enjoying other sporting leagues as well.

Following a Game 3 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night to go up 2-1 in the Western Conference semifinal series, the 7-foot-4 Frenchman sat down with the Amazon Prime crew to discuss his performance on the court and what he’s watching off of it.

Steve Nash, a former two-time NBA MVP and avid soccer fan, asked the European for his opinion on the upcoming Champions League match at the end of May between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Wembanyama, showing his French roots, didn’t hesitate to make his allegiance and prediction known.

“Ah, come on,” the Spurs superstar laughed once the question was broached. “PSG of course. At least PSG will make it somewhat fun, because I know Arsenal ain't!"

The roads between Arsenal and PSG have both been dominated by both sides, yet, as Wembanyama mentioned, in two distinct ways.

While Arsenal have defended and kept clean sheets to reach the European final, PSG have been in boxing matches with some of the best teams on the continent, throwing haymakers at one another.

In PSG’s semifinal victory over German behemoth Bayern Munich, the French side won 5-4 in the opening leg of the series before confirming their advancement to the final with a 1-1 draw in the second leg.

PSG and Arsenal will fight for the Champions League crown on May 30th in Budapest, Hungary. A few days later, though, Wembanyama will be hoping to begin his own run to a championship, as the NBA Finals begin on June 3rd.
