NBA 2K26 Patch Notes: New Update Addresses Gameplay and MyNBA
As the NBA playoffs continue to heat up with the Conference Finals approaching, NBA 2K26 is beginning to enter its final stretch of post-launch support. With Season 7 set to be officially revealed on Wednesday, May 13, 2K has now released a fresh patch focused on gameplay tuning, WNBA updates, and MyNBA fixes ahead of the new season rollout.
According to the official NBA 2K26 Discord, the update is scheduled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while the Steam version is expected to arrive later in the week.
What's Included in the New NBA 2K26 Update
The latest patch is relatively small, but it still addresses several areas across the game.
General
- Preparations added for NBA 2K26 Season 7
- Season 7 launches Friday, May 15 at 11 AM ET
WNBA
- Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo added as playable teams in WNBA Quick Play
- Updated 2026 uniforms and court floors for all WNBA teams
Gameplay
- Refined drive transitions from standing stepback moves
- Adjustments designed to better match real-world momentum and player physics
MyNBA
- Fixed an NBA Cup blocker issue tied to non-standard schedules
March Patch Focused on Anti-Cheat Protections
In the most recent update in March, NBA 2K26 rolled out Patch 5.1, which focused heavily on online fair play and competitive integrity. According to the official patch notes released in March, the update introduced new protections against network manipulation and intentional "lag switching" tactics across online modes like Park, The Theater, and The REC.
2K stated at the time that anti-cheat efforts would remain ongoing as the studio continued testing new systems aimed at reducing unfair online advantages.
With Season 7 now right around the corner, more announcements are expected later this week as NBA 2K26 continues its postseason content push.
