Alex Bullock Becomes Third NFL Rookie To Retire After 2026 Draft

A trio of undrafted NFL rookies have chosen to retire following the 2026 Draft.

Miami Dolphins running back Le'Veon Moss opted to retire, just a few days into his NFL career. Moss, who played collegiately at Texas A&M, was officially placed on the reserve/retired list over the weekend. He will not be pursuing a future in football - at least as a player.

"The Miami Dolphins placed undrafted rookie RB Le'Veon Moss, formerly of Texas A&M, on the reserve/retired list. This happens just weeks after his signing as a UDFA," David Furones reported.

"In fact, Le'Veon Moss officially signed on Friday, May 8, for the Dolphins' first day of rookie minicamp. Four days later, he's retired."

Earlier this month, a second NFL rookie, Chicago Bears wide receiver Squirrel White opted to retire.

White played collegiately at Tennessee and Florida State, totaling over 1,900 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He suffered an apparent injury during an offseason practice in Chicago.

"I was walking into the Walter Payton Center Saturday as he was exiting the practice field with a trainer. This was during stretch. He did not return for practice," ESPN's Courtney Cronin wrote in a post on X on May 9.

Now, a third NFL rookie has opted to retire.

Third NFL rookie opts to retire

Alex Bullock, a wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars, has opted to retire before the start of the year.

"Alex Bullock, who they signed as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State, is retiring from the NFL, the team announced. This is now the third undrafted NFL rookie to retire in the last week," Ari Meirov reported.

Playing in the NFL is a dream for many, but it's not for everyone.

These three NFL rookies have realized that very early.
