Skiers Skim Arapahoe Basin's "Lake Reveal" On Closing Day (Photos and Video)

After quite the roller coaster of a winter and spring, Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, has wrapped up the 2025/26 ski season.

The ski area's official opening and closing dates were October 26, 2025, and May 17, 2026, respectively.

Like many ski areas in Colorado and the West, A-Basin spent much of the season battling warm temperatures and a lack of snow. However, a few late-season miracle storms helped the ski resort stay open into the middle of May, after initially planning for a May 3rd closing day.

After two extensions and three closing weekend celebrations, the resort has finally stopped spinning lifts for the year.

Only in the final days of the season did A-Basin's famous high-alpine pond skim show itself. Lake Reveal, as it's known, was in full force for the final closing weekend of the season and saw its fair share of brave souls brave the icy, snowmelt waters. See below.

If anything, the final weekends at A-Basin were a reminder of how strong the mountain's community is. "We have to all say a huge thank you to our staff who pulled it all off, who showed up even when the snow didn't, and made this season the absolute best that it could be," said resort Communications Manager Shayna Silverman in an email.

Arapahoe Basin is now closed until the resort opens for its summer operations on July 2. Mountain activities, including mountain biking, the Via Ferrata, an Aerial Adventure Park, and more, are all part of summer at A-Basin.

Summer season passes are currently on sale at their lowest price of the year.
