Adam Scott Set to Join Exclusive Club After U.S. Open News
For decades, Adam Scott has been blessing his fans by competing at the top level. However, his longevity is much longer than many expected, as the Australian veteran is set to join an exclusive club that only consists of 18-time Major winner Jack Nicklaus.
Scott's outing at the 2026 PGA Championship didn't go as planned. The 45-year-old missed the cut after shooting 8-over par. Following the second major of the year, fans of the Australian pro were left disappointed until a new development emerged.
The United States Golf Association released a new list of players for the upcoming US Open field. Scott, who is currently ranked 49th in the OWGR, secured his spot for the third major of the season. He joined the top 60 golfers in the world courtesy of his T-4 finish at the Miami Championship in April.
Several hours ago, the USGA added 35 players to the US Open field. World No.49 Adam Scott is officially set for his 100th consecutive major start. Joins Jack Nicklaus as the only men to compete in 100–plus consecutive majors. Scott's streak began at the 2001 Open Championship

By securing his spot for the 2026 US Open, Scott will make his 100th consecutive major championship start of his career. The significance of that number places him in an exclusive club. The 45-year-old now joins Jack Nicklaus as the only men in history to compete in 100 or more consecutive majors.
Nicklaus, an 18-time Major winner, built one of the most decorated resumes in the sport of golf. While he remained alone with many of his records, the legendary golfer will now share this rare feat with Scott. The Australian golfer's streak began in the 2001 Open Championship, a year after turning pro.
Since then, he has competed in every championship and won his first and only major in 2013 at the Masters. In 2014, Scott overcame Tiger Woods to become the world's number one golfer. Since then, while Scott has come close to winning another major, he has never been able to do so. Out of his 99 consecutive appearances, he has missed the cut only 25 times.
With the US Open still a month away, the Australian golfer will look to win his first major in over a decade. His best finish at the major came in 2014 when he finished in T-4 position. However, history indicates that the upcoming outing could be troublesome for the veteran golfer.
The 126th US Open will take place at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. The historic venue has hosted the event five times in the past, and Scott has competed in the 2004 and 2018 editions. During both majors, the Australian golfer missed the cut. However in 2013, he set a course record at the venue during a casual outing with a 63 round.
Now as he looks to make history by competing in his 100th consecutive event, Scott will try to rewrite history.
